Many of the activities on these pages may require adult supervision.

Find them in art-supply stores, stationery stores, discount stores,
hobby shops, or around the house.
For drawing and coloring
Pencils, pens, colored pencils, markers, white chalk,
charcoal pencils, crayons, erasers.
For painting
Poster or tempera paint, wet and powdered,
water colors, acrylic paints, spray paint, orange-juice
cans, baby-food jars, brushes, sponges.
Paper
Construction paper, newsprint pads, tracing paper
(vellum), oaktag, watercolor paper, fingerpaint paper,
brown paper, sheets and rolls, shirt cardboards.
Adhesives
Scotch tape, masking tape, white glue (such as
Elmer's or Sobo), rubber cement (toxic; use only
in a well-ventilated area), paste.
For printing
Printing ink (water-base), linoleum blocks, Styrofoam,
brayers, stamp pads.
For collage
Old magazines, old greeting cards, junk mail, ribbons,
strings, doilies, gold and silver stars, clear Con-Tact paper,
straws, feathers, sand, Popsicle sticks, fabric scraps,
leather scraps, yarn, beads, spools.
For construction
Scraps of soft lumber (pine is best), woodworking tools (see Woodworking), cork, cardboard rolls (from rolls of toilet paper and paper towels), toothpicks, wire (telephone wire, plastic-coasted wire, florist's wire, thin wire that comes in spools), bottle caps, jar lids, corrugated cardboard (tri-wall), pipe cleaners, vise or C-clamps (to hold things while you work on them).
Desk supplies
Ruler, scissors, paper, stapler, rubber bands, hole puncher, thumbtacks, brass paper fasteners, paperclips.
